Composition framing task
For the composition and framing challenge I was given the theme of, Compare and Contrast. The purpose of the task was to practice our composition and framing but I got caught up in the theme I was given and forgot to do any of the techniques in my first set of photos.
The techniques, after the initial shoot we were told about the following techniques:
Negative Space: Using space around a subject to make it stand out from the background.
Framing: Constructing a frame within the shot to exaggerate the subject and make it even more prominent.
Depth of field: Using a wide aperture to get a shallow depth of field.
Symmetry: Having the same sort of thing on both side of the shot, like a butterfly.
Perspective: Shooting from different angles this can also include using the rule of thirds.
Colour: The meaning behind what each colour in you photo represents.
On reattempting on of my photos to make it look a little bit less rubbish, I used depth of field and symmetry. Using these techniques made my picture more visually interesting. I can take what I have learnt from the different techniques and implement them into my music video to make it look even better that it was already going to. When I improve I want to have a more in-depth interpretation of the themes used so I can implement this into my music video as well.
